Once again, a round of the HRCR Championship joins forces with HERO ERA for a tough and challenging event based at The Motorist on the outskirts of York. The traditional mix of tests and regularities will be spread over the Saturday using some of the best roads in the area, based in Yorkshire based out of the motoring mecca The Motorist in Sherburn in Elmet with the help of Simon Spinks a HERO-ERA competitor and the team behind this growing venue, it will open up to us new roads and test venues in an area used in the past for the Rally of the Tests.

The event will follow the normal format for a HERO Challenge with scrutineering on the Friday afternoon and evening. Saturday morning will see competitors departing for a full day’s competition in and around the local area before heading back to The Motorist for the finish and prize giving.

Event Schedule

Day 0

Day 0 - 18th September 2026 Scrutineering & Documentation

Scrutineering and documentation will take place from lunchtime on Friday at The Motorist, allowing crews plenty of time to travel and prepare for the event starting at 08:00 on the Saturday morning.

Day 1

Day 1 - Rally Day - 19th September 2026

The event starts with some tests close the start location before heading out into the quiet roads of the area with a couple of regularities before a quick halt for a coffee back at the start venue hopefully before we then head further into the Yorkshire Wolds last used on a Hero Challenge back in 2021. A scenic route across some of the quieter areas of the Wolds and takes crews through two more regularity sections before the lunch stop is planned at a different local highlight before the return journey back West takes us through more tests and regularities back to the final tests and finish area.

The majority of crews will be back to finish before 5:30pm affording the opportunity to head home in good time after the awards presentation.
